S.W.A.T. Finale Recap 5/17/18: Season 1 Episode 22 “Hoax”

Street was late to an assignment on tonight’s all-new episode of "SWAT" because he had to take his mom to the first day at the job at the last minute. Karen Street knew she had to be on time for her first day. She also knew that she suffered from anxiety and so there was a little chance that she suddenly knew she couldn’t make the trip five minutes before she had to be there. Karen was once again screwing with her son and his future. Street had gotten in trouble for showing up late and he had been warned that there better not be a second time, however, he never made this kind of mistakes back when his mother was behind bars and so she’s clearly a problem. Like Hondo knew she would be! Hondo had warned Street that he needed distance from Karen and Street had ignored him because he wanted to believe his mother was a good person. S.W.A.T. Recap 4/26/18: Season 1 Episode 19 “Source”

Street visited his mother in prison on tonight’s all-new episode of "S.W.A.T." because she was finally getting out. Street knew why his mother had gone to prison. Karen Street had planned and then followed through on killing his father after the abusive drunk pushed her too far. His dad started hitting her and refused to leave no matter how much she asked him. She had said she would call the cops and the man still hadn’t cared, so that’s when she decided to go ahead with her plan. She went into her son’s room and had told him that he should yell at his father. Something like calling him a coward! She told Street at the time that he didn’t need to worry because she was going to make sure he never hurt them again and so Street had done as she asked. READ MORE...

S.W.A.T. Recap 4/19/18: Season 1 Episode 18 “Patrol”

It was Patrol Day at the station and it was part of their community outreach on tonight’s all-new episode of "S.W.A.T." The whole unit had to participate in Patrol Day. They were going to be taking emergency calls out on the street and some of them had even got to stay behind to talk some troubled kids. The theory was that these troubled kids could one day become dangerous and so reaching out to them while there was still time had given the unit the chance to talk these kids about what it really like out in the real world. They were getting into trouble believing it made them cool and everyone would want to be friends with them afterward, but the truth is those friends would ditch them at the first opportunity they got because some of them will have to grow up and start to think about their future. S.W.A.T. Recap 4/12/18: Season 1 Episode 17 “Armory”

Cortez had been in the middle of giving an interview on tonight’s all new episode of "S.W.A.T." when she was alerted to a situation. Cortez had been discussing her initiatives with the media when the interview was abruptly cancelled and she had been told a family had been taken hostage by a local gang member. The gang member’s name was Angel Lucero. He belonged to Los Reyes and had supposedly turned on his partner, but not before getting caught or attempting to flee in his car and so the cops were forced to end the car chase. They placed spikes in the road and it forced Angel into losing control of his car. His car later flipped and unfortunately he had been in a well-enough condition to flee the scene where he ran into the closest house. And so the situation turned into a hostage crisis because Angel threatened to kill the family if he wasn’t allowed to go free. READ MORE...

S.W.A.T. Recap 4/5/18: Season 1 Episode 16 “Payback”

SWAT found themselves dealing with a kidnapping on tonight’s all new episode and the victim it seems was famous. The young woman that was kidnapped was Juliette Carlton. Her parents had created a doll after her and it made a them a lot of money though not enough for her to be the usual kidnapping victim. No, what made Juliette a target had been both her youth and past history. It seems she was foolish when it came to relationships because she liked the bad boys and didn’t realize the latest character was using her for her money. He and his boys used her trust fund like an ATM and it got so bad that her parents stepped in. They hired the private security firm Granger Protection that was known to hire former servicemen and so the couple received a former marine to act as a bodyguard for their daughter. READ MORE...

S.W.A.T. Recap 2/1/18: Season 1 Episode 12 “Contamination”

LAPD S.W.A.T. took down a weapon supplier on tonight’s all-new episode, however, while they may have gotten the supplier, he revealed that it hadn’t been his first time in the city. The supplier had been dropping off crates of liquid cyanide for weeks. He readily confessed to it and had also stated that he had sold the crates to survivalist types. As in men that didn’t believe the government held any sort of authority over them and that they needed to protect themselves from big government. Therefore, these men were paranoid and dangerous. They could easily turn to violence when they believed they have been pushed or the rights fringed upon so they were not the sort of men to be given access to liquid cyanide. The poison could easily turn into an airborne bomb and so the FBI had needed to figure out why they hadn’t known any of this. READ MORE...

S.W.A.T. Recap 1/18/18: Season 1 Episode 11 “K-Town”

SWAT begins tonight with a man walking through a very busy restaurant, going to the basement and being attacked by a masked crew, who grab several bags full of drugs. The man on the ground asks them if they know who they are stealing from and warns that they will find them, the man in the mask shrugs his shoulders; the crew jumps in a van and escapes, as they pull off their masks, it is Daniel ‘Hondo’ Harrelson (Shemar Moore), Dominique Luca (Kenny Johnson), Christina ‘Chris’ Alonso (Lina Esco), Victor Tan (David Lim) and Jim Street (Alex Russell), who loved the rush. Luca jokes about not getting his ribs as Hondo calls into command saying they got the "goods" and everyone is safe. Robert Hicks (Patrick St. Esprit) is cheering them on for getting in and out without a single shot fired. DEA Special Agent Katrina ‘KC’ Walsh (MC Lyte) is impressed with their work and tells her men to get the bricks of fentanyl tested. Captain Jessica Cortez (Stephanie Sigman) and Commissioner Michael Plank (Peter Facinelli) arrive, where Jessica explains that SWAT is part of a DEA task force and Hondo’s team just executed a warrant. KC takes over and reveals who they are targeting, and because of the "Rip", she hopes the calls will go up the ladder and reveal who the real boss is; they have tracers on all the phones. S.W.A.T. Recap 1/11/18: Season 1 Episode 10 “Seizure”

SWAT begins with a massive fight in side the CDCR, as three different gangs have taken over three different sections of the prison. Daniel ‘Hondo’ Harrelson (Shemar Moore) informs his team they have access to the control room and the armory. The gangs they are looking at at the One-Niners who are led by a OP, who is not felony stupid. The 2nd gang is the Baja Diablo Cartel who are being led by Moco (Reinaldo Faberlle), it is a gang that has a lot of muscle but love to kill people. Hondo warns the 3rd gang is the worst as they are the Nazi-Eagles led by Gunner Cade (Gideon Emery). Hondo says Gunner Cade is not only smart but vicious too. Meanwhile, inside the prison, Gunner and his group come into the sanctuary where the nun is begging him to not do this. He promises he won’t violate her, instead he stabs her, saying she is not his type, and it is not just her race, but because he also hates Catholics! She begs for him to let them go, but then the Warden is brought in, asking him to release the civilians; Gunner says he has nothing to lose as he is serving three life sentences. SWAT arrives at the prison as Hondo warns his team to watch each other’s backs. READ MORE...

S.W.A.T. Winter Premiere Recap 1/4/18: Season 1 Episode 9 “Blindspots”

A man named Tucker arrives at work, orders the receptionist to round everyone up in the conference room as he uses a bike lock to seal the front doors and pulls out a gun. Once everyone is together, he demands to know where Brittany is; meanwhile the SWAT team is scaling the walls as Daniel ‘Hondo’ Harrelson (Shemar Moore) tells Christina ‘Chris" Alonso (Lina Esco) to get the snake camera ready, as they prepare to breach. They break in and shoot Tucker, securing the scene. Jim Street (Alex Russell) feels it was a decent way to start the day, Victor Tan (David Lim) agrees. David ‘Deacon’ Kay (Jay Harrington) and Dominique Luca (Kenny Johnson) joke with Hondo and Chris how competitive they all are. READ MORE...

S.W.A.T. Season 1 Episode 8 Review: Miracle

On S.W.A.T. Season 1 Episode 8 Hondo and Mumford's teams are called into work over their holiday break when bars of gold are stolen from a local cartel. With an episode aptly named "Miracle" it seemed like S.W.A.T. was going for a lighthearted holiday feeling, but it leaned just a little bit too far toward cheesy for my liking.
