Tournament rules:
I. Entry and fees:
A. Online Registration
1. Players are encouraged to register early for the tournament at
www.NorcalStrongstyle.com.
a. Online Registration will end on January 27th, 2010.
2. Online Registration is required for regional seeding. Any players registering on-site will be subject to random seeding, regardless of location.
3. Online Registration will place registered players on an early viewing bracket, made public on January 28th, 2010.
a. Early Viewing bracket is for players to self-check any possible regional seeding issues that may occur during the bracket making process.
b. Any issues found during the self-check process can be addressed by sending an email to subtL@norcalstrongstyle.com any time between the 28th and the 30th.
c. Brackets may be updated during this period in order to reflect any changes.
d. Brackets are subject to change due to self-check issues, and late registration.
4. Fees for Early Registration are as follows:
a. Tournament Registration: $10
- This fee will allow all players to register for any tournament provided at the tournament site. Any attempted registration without the Tournament Registration fee will be not be processed.
b. Tekken 6 Singles Tournament: $20
c. Tekken Tag Singles Tournament: $10
d. Tekken 6 Team Tournament: Will be collected on-site.
B. Onsite Registration
1. Players who choose not to register online will be subject to a Tournament Registration fee increase ($20 instead of the $10 for online registration). All other fees will be srdtandard price.
2. On-site Registration will begin on January 30th at 10am.
3. Players who register on-site will be randomly placed into any bye spots on the bracket regardless of the match-up.
II. Tournament Rules Part 1: Players Guide
A. Hardware and Equipment
1. The tournament will be played on Playstation 3 consoles and Sony 22 inch CRT televisions.
2. Players will be responsible for any and all controllers needed to participate in
he tournament.
a. There will not be any community controllers provided by the Strongstyle staff, nor will there be any community USB cables or controller converters provided by the staff.
b. All controllers and/or joystick, wireless or otherwise, must be connected to the Playstation 3 via USB cable.
1. Any controller without a USB connection will not be allowed at the tournament, and that player may be subject to disqualification if a suitable controller substitute is not available.
3. After the match players will be directed to a De-Sync station, where all players will take their controllers to be de-synced from its previous station.
a. Any player who does not check in their controller/joystick to be de-synced is subject to forfeit and possible disqualification from the tournament.
B. Conduct and Behavior
1. All tournament players are subject to respectable and courteous conduct and behavior within the tournament hall.
2. Any behavior deemed to be crude, abrasive, or detrimental to the tournament may result in forfeit of matches and possible disqualification of the tournament.
3. Each individual situation is subject to the review of a tournament director, who has the authority to issue forfeits and disqualification as seen fit.
4. Players are also subject to any and all rules given by the hotel, and failure to follow these rules and hotel management will result in an immediate disqualification from the tournament.
5. If any player has issues with the conduct of another player, the issue must be brought up to the tournament staff, and will be dealt on a case by case basis.
6. Players are expected to remain near their designated stations through out the tournament, and are expected to show up promptly for their matches when called upon.
a. Each player is expected to show up within 15 minutes of being called to their station.
b. If a player does not show up with in the 15 minute waiting period, the tournament director has the authority to have the player forfeit their match.
c. Any judgment made by the tournament director about forfeits due to a player not showing up is absolute and is not subject to review.
7. Players are expected to keep any and all valuables (contollers, joysticks, money, etc.) in their possession, and the Strongstyle Staff and the Hotel are not responsible for any lost items.
III. Tournament Guide: Tournament Format
A. Tekken 6 Singles
1. Dates and Time:
Main Tournament: Saturday 11am - 5pm
Top 8 / Finals: Sunday
2. Format:
Double Elimination Tournament Bracket
- All players must lose TWICE before being eliminated from the tournament
3 / 5 Rounds
2 / 3 Games
Finals Format:
Losers Final: 3 / 5 Rounds, 3 / 5 Games
Grand Finals: 3 / 5 Rounds, 4 / 7 Games
Winner is the final player remaining in the tournament
3. Rules
a. All games are to be played in Arcade Mode.
b. If a player wins a game, that player is required to stay as the same character until he/she either loses or advances to the next match-up.
c. If a player loses a game, that player is allowed to switch character.
d. All stages are to be decided by Random Select.
e. No gameplay breaking bugs or glitches are allowed
4. Payout
a. Grand Final Winner: 70% of the collected Tekken 6 singles fee
( x amount of players * $20) * .70 = payout
b. Second Place Winner: 20% of the collected Tekken 6 singles fee
( x amount of players * $20) * .20 = payout
c. Third Place Winner: 10% of the collected Tekken 6 singles fee
( x amount of players * $20) * .10 = payout
d. Payout will be made in cash upon the conclusion of the tournament.
A. Tekken Tag Singles

Main Tournament: Saturday 3pm - 6pm
Top 8 / Finals: Sunday
2. Format:
Double Elimination Tournament Bracket
-All players must lose TWICE before being eliminated from the tournament

Finals Format:

Double Elimination Tournament Bracket
-All teams must lose TWICE before being eliminated from the tournament
2 / 3 Rounds
Player is eliminated after losing a game
The match concludes when all players on the losing team have been eliminated
Finals Format:
Losers Final: 3 / 5 Rounds
Grand Finals: 3 / 5 Rounds
Winner is the final team remaining in the tournament
3. Rules
a. All games are to be played in Arcade Mode.
b. No team is allowed to play duplicate character during any single match. All 3 players must play 3 different characters during the course of a single match-up.
c. If a player wins a match, that player is required to stay the same character until the next match-up.
d. All stages are to be decided by Random Select.
e. No gameplay breaking bugs or glitches are allowed
4. Payout
a. Grand Final Winner: 70% of the collected Tekken Tag singles fee
( x amount of players * $20) * .70 = payout
b. Second Place Winner: 20% of the collected Tekken Tag singles fee
